酒店管理教师赴万豪集团交流体会

旅游学院 闻飞副教授

在学校和学院领导的热切关怀下,在万豪“万礼豪程”(Marriott CHEI)项目的倾力支持下,本人于2015年1月在上海豫园万丽酒店(Renaissance Shanghai Yu Garden Hotel)进行了为期两周的行业挂职锻炼。

“万礼豪程”(Marriott CHEI)项目是由J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott万豪基金会全面资助,旨在:提高中国酒店专业教育,使青年人在中国酒店业中一展抱负;给予专业课老师职业充电的机会,令其对酒店行业充满热情;提供具体现实的业界体验令老师了解酒店的操作和实际应用,帮助他们优化课堂教学教材,并更有效地给酒店专业学生进行授课;通过老师和业界人士的接触、互动、建立和酒店员工与管理层的关系;通过该项目让老师可以自我主动学习,并将这种学习的方式教授给学生;分享成功并让更多的老师对挂职培训项目感兴趣。

从前期的项目接洽到后期的项目结束,“万礼豪程”(Marriott CHEI)项目高层都给予了极高的关注,项目安排的上海豫园万丽酒店都给予了极高的配合,学院的领导和同事都给予了不同程度的支持。

在这次的挂职培训中,我主要是学习OPERA酒店管理信息系统,围绕着软件在酒店各部门的应用情况,先后进入前厅部、房务部、行政酒廊、商务中心、总机等部门进行学习,得到了各部门领导的悉心安排。在进入入职程序之后,项目组和酒店方给予我们一份详尽的挂职培训计划。鉴于此份挂职培训计划,两周的行程被规划地详尽且充实,让我对于“万礼豪程”(Marriott CHEI)项目有了更多的肯定和更高的评价。

感谢万豪“万礼豪程”(Marriott CHEI)项目和上海豫园万丽酒店(Renaissance Shanghai Yu Garden Hotel)的支持下,我圆满完成挂职学习任务,对此后我的教学产生的极大的帮助。因为我的刻苦与努力,“万礼豪程”(Marriott CHEI)还以“目标明确,奋力出击!”为题在其官方微信平台报导了我的挂职学习,给后续学习的老师以更多的启迪;此外,2015年7月在宁波召开的第二届万礼豪程教学研讨会上,CHEI项目负责人用PPT介绍了闻飞老师挂职期间刻苦学习的感人事迹。

Clear goal, dedicated effort!
    I was thrilled when our school nominated me to participate in the 2015 winter faculty internship at the Renaissance Shanghai Yu Garden Hotel. During the webinar training by the CHEI project manager with all of the teachers, I learned more about the program. When I received the training plan,I set clear goals for myself. I wanted to use every possible minute to learn about the Opera system so I could gain hands-on knowledge and share real-world casestudies with students when teaching Front Office operations during the spring semester.
    The Opera system is complicated. I worked the front desk shifts so I could learn more about how to prepare for guest arrival, VIP welcome, guestdeparture, Marriott Rewards enrollment, and even how to close with the night audit. The colleagues at the front desk were very helpful and they did their best to teach me as much as they could during their busy shifts. They also answered many of my questions that I couldn’t find answers to in textbooks or online. Though two weeks passes quickly, I was able to learn part of the Opera system and the experience was very helpful, giving me greater knowledge toshare during my classroom teaching.
    Thanks to CHEI and the Renaissance Shanghai Yu Garden Hotel. I think if teachers set very clear goals and objectives before the internship andwork very hard, they can achieve a lot from the experience. I hope I can have another, longer internship in the future.
